Lee Bryan - Chief Learning Officer

Lee led a management consulting company in the UK from 1989 to 1992 working on BS5750 implementations as a government approved contractor. Joining Burton Corporation in 1993 as Director of Quality Management, he developed quality management systems throughout the worldwide subcontractor and supplier base until 1998 when he joined Vans Inc. as Director of Engineering for the Switch Manufacturing business unit responsible for product development and engineering of all technical product lines.

Returning to Vermont in 2000, he joined the Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center as a professional business advisor where he implemented lean business principles in a variety of industries. Continuing his keen interest in healthcare he researched the healthcare environment worldwide and developed the Process Strategies Group business plan for VMEC in January 2006 with an emphasis on healthcare.

Lee left VMEC in March 2007 to launch Lean Healthcare Partners, a boutique consulting company specializing in healthcare improvement. His role of Chief Learning Officer encompasses the functions of product and curriculum development, client training and implementation and corporate strategy.

Recent projects include the translation of lean manufacturing training materials to the healthcare environment, lean implementations in two laboratories, a diagnostic imaging department and an admissions and evaluation process and in 2007 a whole hospital lean transformation underwritten by a State of Vermont appropriation.

Future plans and research projects include the implementation of a standardized lean business model in physician’s practices, further expansion of linked value stream implementations in hospitals and his upcoming book “Transformation Management”.
